Indian Ocean deal flow, screened before it reaches you
What an investor actually receives here, how the mandate filter works, and the limits the platform puts on itself in writing.
From the investor's side the problem is the mirror image of the founder's. A regional fund does not lack files. It lacks files inside its mandate, and reading a hundred to find three is the real cost of origination in a market this size - paid in the scarcest resource a small team has, which is partner attention. Nobody solves that by adding another inbox.
What KAPEX does about it is narrow and mechanical. Every file submitted is reviewed by the Capital and Funding Cluster's analysts before it is routed anywhere, and it is then routed only to investors whose stated mandate covers it: sector, instrument, ticket range, geography. An investor who has not stated a mandate receives nothing at all, which is deliberate - an unstated mandate is an invitation to send everything, and everything is what nobody wants.
Then the ceiling. Every firm sets its own weekly maximum number of files, and it is enforced rather than treated as a suggestion the platform overrides when volume is good. It is changeable at any time, in either direction. The reasoning is unromantic: an origination channel that floods you is one you stop opening within a month, and a channel you have stopped opening is worth nothing to the founders on the other side of it either.
The rest is best stated as limits rather than promises, because limits are checkable. There is no success fee on either side, so nothing about how a file is routed is influenced by which deal might close. No firm is ranked, scored or given a match percentage - listings are alphabetical, and a merit rating would be investment advice, which we are not licensed to give and do not want to give. No contact data is sold, and none is released without the firm's consent; the public table has no column for it. And a profile is removed in one click, immediately and permanently, with no account required and no later import bringing it back.

Create my investor profileFrequently asked questions
- What does this cost an investor?
- Registering a mandate, being matched to files and being introduced are free and carry no success fee. The only chargeable service on the investor side is Capital Concierge, a flat-fee sourcing mandate where we search against a brief you set, payable whether or not something is found. The full price list is public.
- How much detail do we see before an introduction?
- A screened summary sufficient to decide whether the file is inside your mandate. Anything beyond that - the data room and the underlying documents - opens only after the confidentiality undertaking is signed and the project holder agrees, and the project holder controls what is in it.
- How is our firm verified?
- Verification is separate from listing. The firm supplies three documents, or an attestation from its lawyer, accountant or banker, which our team confirms directly with the attesting professional. Turnaround is 24 working hours.
- How do we leave?
- One click, no account needed. Removal takes effect immediately, is permanent, and no future import will reintroduce the profile.
